Dulhan ki doli, Palanquin or Palkhi: Bride in a doli leaving her parent's home after getting married. Palanquin: A conveyance formerly used especially in eastern Asia usually for one person that consists of an enclosed litter borne on the shoulders of men by means of poles.
Madhubani is a folk painting from the Mithila region, hence it is also known as Mithila or Madhubani painting. Traditionally done by women in the villages of Bihar, India. Madhubani designs essentially depict scenes of royal courtyard, and Indian weddings, marriages symbols of fertility and prosperity with dominance of motifs like fish, parrot, elephant, turtle, sun, moon, tree, flowers, lotus, etc. This paintings are done on handmade watercolor paper with acrylic colors, pen-nibs and brushes.
